General
Is there a difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
While the terms “dietitian” and “nutritionist” are often used interchangeably, there is a distinct difference in qualifications and expertise. A Registered Dietitian (also known as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) is a regulated healthcare professional who has completed an accredited bachelor’s degree program, supervised practice, and national examination, qualifying them to assess nutritional needs, develop personalized meal plans, provide medical nutrition therapy, and ensure proper nutrition education. In contrast, the term “nutritionist” is broader and may or may not require specific educational credentials or licensure depending on state regulations. When dealing with medical conditions, dietary restrictions or complex nutrition needs, consulting a Registered Dietitian ensures evidence-based guidance tailored to your individual health goals.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Although EverVital Nutrition is headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, we have patients all over the US and Canada. Due to professional liability insurance reasons, unfortunately we are unable to work with people outside those areas at this time.
What type of patients does EverVital Nutrition help?
Our practice includes functional Registered Dietitian Nutritionists specializing in gut health and we help patients overcome IBS, SIBO, leaky gut, Candida, food sensitivities and other digestive issues. Our personalized approach targets root causes through dietary modifications, gut-healing protocols and lifestyle changes to restore microbiome balance. We also address hormonal imbalances, thyroid disorders, adrenal fatigue and weight issues linked to gut dysfunction. Our goal is sustainable, natural solutions for reclaiming health and vitality.
How are you different than other RDs?
As Registered Dietitian Nutritionists with 20+ years of experience and hundreds of hours of specialized gut health training, we’re uniquely qualified to identify and address the root causes of your IBS, SIBO, and other digestive issues through tailored, comprehensive gut-healing protocols that go beyond diet alone.
Before Your Test
Do I need to do anything special before I collect my sample?
Yes! Wait at least one month after antibiotics, anti-fungal, or any other anti-microbial meds or supplements before collecting your stool sample. At least 3 days before you collect your sample, stop taking oral castor oil, probiotics, laxatives, aspirin or ibuprofen. Also discontinue taking all gut-associated supplements like pre- and probiotics, digestive enzymes, and liver support supplements. And then just follow your normal diet.
Will I be given a meal plan?
Instead of a rigid meal-by-meal plan, you’ll receive a customized list of approved foods based on your specific GI-MAP test results and gut health issues. For instance, if your test shows an overgrowth of H. pylori bacteria, you’ll get a tailored diet plan designed to effectively and rapidly eradicate H. pylori. This approach gives you the flexibility to create meals you genuinely enjoy from the recommended foods while targeting your unique gut imbalances.
Can I use my FSA/HAS account to pay for services?
Yes! Services and testing provided by EverVital Nutrition are HSA- and FSA-eligible expenses and we are an approved provider. Patients should confirm with their healthcare provider the details of their specific plan for qualified expenses.
What can I expect from our first session?
To begin your journey towards better gut health, we provide a complimentary consultation to discuss your specific gut health symptoms and concerns. This free consultation allows us to explore whether our unique approach would shed light on the root causes behind your IBS, SIBO, food sensitivities, or other gut-related symptoms.
Our first meeting ensures we’re on the same page about your goals and gives you a clear understanding of how our functional nutrition expertise can transform your gut health and overall well-being. Book your complimentary consultation today and let’s chat about what’s up in your gut!
When will I see progress?
While every individual’s healing journey is unique, many of our patients start experiencing significant improvements in their gut health symptoms within the first 4-6 weeks of following their personalized treatment protocol, some see changes sooner.
By restoring balance to your gut microbiome, reducing inflammation, and removing dietary triggers, you can expect a gradual reduction in issues like bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and food intolerances. With consistent commitment, most patients achieve significant, lasting relief from IBS, SIBO, leaky gut, and other chronic digestive disorders within 3-6 months.
Are your services covered by insurance?
Unfortunately, functional nutrition services are typically not covered by most insurance plans as they are considered an alternative or complementary approach to healthcare. As a self-pay practice specializing in gut health and root cause resolution, our comprehensive treatment protocols go beyond conventional dietitian services.
This allows us to spend more focused one-on-one time with each patient, order advanced diagnostic testing like the GI-MAP to analyze your gut microbiome, and develop highly personalized plans.
While insurance doesn’t cover the cost, many find this investment in their long-term gut health and overall wellness to be invaluable. We offer flexible payment options to make these transformative services accessible. Reclaiming your vitality through functional gut healing is priceless.
